What's the best goal YOU'VE scored...

So many to choose from for The Troyster - But one that sticks out is my brother taking a corner and I struck it first time top corner from about 25 yards in off the underside of the bar.
That little French striker Papin later tried to copy me.
It was also the winner in a 4-3 game.
Funny thing was, due to sibling rivalry my brother insisted it was only "ok" even though I was getting applause from the side lines.

I didn't score many goals, was always a centre half but I didn't score an amazing fluke off my knee. The ball was whipped over and I don't know what I was doing around the penalty spot and how I was inside but I went to volley the ball on the turn and the mistimed it. The ball hit my knee and flew over the keepers head.
I also scored some pretty impressive Ogs

Opposition keeper duffed a goal kick. I volleyed it straight back past him.
Gets further out as time goes by. At the time of writing I was about four miles out.

Loads of good goals over the years, one of my favourites isn't spectacular as such, I just out-foxed the goalkeeper.
During the warm ups before the game I noticed their goalkeeper wasn't all that great with kicking etc.
When they had their first goal kick I just stood on the edge of the box and waited for him to fuck it up to which he did on the 2nd occasion. I controlled the ball and smashed hit past him. That was the first goal on my way to a hat trick that day.

Can remember the best one I nearly scored....
Was from left back and I hit the bar from about 40 yards. Absolutely gutted it didn't go in at the time, and I don;t really know why I was shooting from that distance.
We lost the game 6-1 or something, though.

I scored directly from a corner once. My friends said it went over the jumpers, so it was 'post', but I knew it was 'in'.

Couple straight from corners, various volleys from outside the box oh and my mate who was partner to Gill Taylforth was pretty good on the pitch as well, very good header of the ball, we both played in the Hertford and District league

Scored a screamer of a FK away to Northampton. 15's manager took us for the first time so was gutted the 18's manager didnt see it. Was his last game aswell as we lost 7-2. Goal of the season contender but couldnt celebrate as we were 6-1 down at the time

At school playing in the annual staff v sixth form match. Just that week, we'd had coaching on shooting. The ball was laid back to me about 5 yards outside the box. Remembered the shooting lesson, struck it first time, sailed in. Was still going up when it went in.
Not being a very good footballer, it was greeted with surprise by my team mates, Shock by the opposition.

I have barely scored any goals as I'm the defender that always stays back for everything... never past the half way line. My one moment of glory was playing 3rd year vs 2nd year at secondary school (that's year 9 vs year 8 in new money) in friendly match on adult pitch... the opposition keeper cleared the ball from edge of his box and proceeded to argue with his defender... ball came all the way to me at right back, I took one touch, no-one closed me down, was 10 yards inside my own half and saw that keeper was still standing there arguing with the defender so I had a shot... ball sailed over his head, bounced on the goal line and went in.
Despite being an ever present for my school team over 5 years that was the only goal I ever scored for them... if you're only going to score one goal it may as well be one like that!

U16 school trials - playing right back. Put a long ball into the box from the halfway line, short keeper, the wind put it in the top corner. Coach told me to stop showing off...

Old Parkonians 7s vs Carshalton 7s in the late 90s.
A long pass was headed on by Pete Walker in central mid to me, loitering just outside the left hand corner of the box. For some unfathomable reason I was feeling confident and volleyed it with the side of my boot. It looped up in a perfect arc, lobbing the keeper and dropping into the far side of the goal.
I had a hat-trick after half an hour and then scored a fourth in the last minute of the game, prompting a FLS dance around the corner flag.
We won 6-2, so I scored the four winners. I still have the Ilford Recorder write-up.
We only won one other game that season...

I scored from my own half in a semi final once over Goodmayes extension, to book us a place In the final at Dagenham's ground.
It was a fairly average attempt that took an outrageous bounce over the keepers head. In other words it was shit and a total fluke!
Best was when I once back flicked the ball over my shoulder and the opponents head, charged on, dribbled past another two and curled a 30 yarder into the top corner. Oh the joys of being 2 stone lighter and lightning quick and that game was probably one of the worst I ever played and that was my entire contribution all game.
